Who can join NTWU?
If you are employees belonging to companies in land transport, public transport, and port services which operate within local sea boundaries, you are welcome to join NTWU. All employees, including executives are welcome to join us.
What is the difference in membership fees paid by workers from different companies?
All members pay a flat fee of $9 per month, and this is regardless of age, nationality and companies they are from. An additional $9 per annum will also be made in the form of donation to the Singapore Labour Foundation.
How do I join NTWU?

What is the difference between an Ordinary Branch or General Branch member?
You will join as an Ordinary Branch member if your company is unionized, and your job scope does not involve hiring and/or firing of employees. If your company is not unionized, and your position has no executive and managerial empowerment, you are entitled to join as an Ordinary Branch member. General members are from non-unionized transport companies, or executives and managers from unionized companies.
What are the forms required to fill in order to join as an NTWU member?
You will be required to fill in the NTWU Application Form where default payment is GIRO deduction. However, if your company is unionized, you may opt for Check-off payment, where deduction is automatically made from your salary. Download the Check-off form.
How long will it take before I receive my U Card?
It will take typically 3 to 4 weeks upon submission of full information to the Union. To ensure that you receive your card quickly, ensure that all mandatory domains are accurately filled in. This will help us process your application quickly.
What should I do if my card is stolen or damaged?
Report to NTUC Membership Centre as soon as possible, and submit the Replacement Card Form thereafter. The hotline for NTUC Membership Centre is +65 6213 8008. However, note that an administrative charge of $3.00 applies. Payment can be made with your LinkPoints, or in cash/cheque.
How do I enhance my Union benefits?
You can enhance your benefits with the NTUC U Plus! Visa card, which is a OCBC debit or credit card. Other than enjoying the benefits that a union member has, this card increases the LinkPoints accumulation when you make purchases with the card, is applicable to more merchants (e.g. Isetan, Robinsons, Marks & Spensor, MPH, Dome Café etc), and gives you more rebates when you shop at FairPrice!
Where to get the list of LinkPoint merchants?
Visit www.linkpoints.com.sg to find out the list of LinkPoint merchants. In the same website, you may also do online redemption and check out your balance LinkPoints.
When will the LinkPoints expire?
LinkPoints earned in a calendar year will expire on the 31 December of that year. However, Cardholders are given an additional six months grace to redeem their points. LinkPoints not redeemed after the grace period the following year will be expired.
NTUC Link reserves the right to amend the validity period of the LinkPoints.
What is the difference between the existing NTUC-U Card and the NTUC-U Plus! Card?
The Plus! Programme is tied to an OCBC debit or credit card, which is aimed at maximizing the benefits (e.g. LinkPoints & discounts) that a member gets when making purchases. More about U Plus! Programme.
Where do I get the list of latest membership privileges?
The membership privileges are enhanced every month. Therefore, please visit http://uportal.ntuc.org.sg/wps/portal/SignUp and click on ‘Privileges Booklet’ to read up on your latest benefits and privileges.
How to apply for Union Training Assistance Program (U-TAP) or NTUC-Surrogate Employer (U-SEP) Programme?
As a union member, you are entitled to $250 in terms of training awards for UTAP, and access to government funding for skills upgrading via U-SEP. To apply, simply visit http://skillsupgrade.ntuc.org.sg
What is the expiry date of the U membership card?
There isn’t an expiry date to your membership card. So as long as the membership fees are paid every month, you get to enjoy all your membership benefits including the free insurance coverage, NTUC GIFT.
